# Lab report printing

> Configure print layout, QR codes, and paper output for lab reports.

# Lab report printing

Requires **Workspace settings** permission to change preferences; anyone with lab report access can print published reports.

## Workspace preferences

1. Open **Workspace settings**.
2. Go to **Lab report printing**.
3. Choose layout (for example **modern** or **classic**), typography, header/footer, and branding.
4. Toggle **Show QR code** and set **QR placement** if you use QR deep links.
5. Save.

Preferences apply to new prints for that workspace. Dates on reports follow the workspace timezone.

## Print a report

1. Open a **published** report under **Laboratory → Reports**.
2. Choose **Print**.
3. Confirm the browser print dialog (use B\&W / grayscale on clinic printers when needed).

  Abnormal values are styled for screen and for print. On monochrome printers they should remain bold and readable.

## QR codes

QR appears on print when **Show QR code** is on for the workspace and the report is **published**. The portal generates the QR from a secure report link at print time (no permanent public image URL).

If QR is missing, confirm the workspace toggle, open a published report, and re-publish after enabling QR if needed.

## Checklist before go-live

* Header matches clinic branding
* Patient identifiers match the chart
* Reference ranges readable at default font size
* Multi-page breaks look acceptable
* Sign-off block shows approver when used
* QR scans to the report (if enabled)
